Easter News

We are thrilled! We just received an email from our donor's wife, Tina McKinnon (not Lisa). It is a wonderful Easter gift, which is what we said in our reply to her. We learned her husband, Steven, has four brothers and one sister and are anxious to meet us. His parents have both had heart surgeries in the past year at the same hospital where she said goodbye to Steven, so she's had a tough time. We replied that we'd like to meet her. She didn't say where she lives, so we'll see what she says when she replies.

We are both in a wedding tomorrow, Easter Sunday. Our very dear friend, Gayle Anne, is getting married for the first time, age 48. She is one of two friends who came to Shands to be with Deb during the surgery when Vernon received Steven's heart. We really like Todd and though their home is Springfield, IL, are glad that they will visit Orlando a couple times a year.

Sorry I haven't written in a month. We have been busy and I'm keeping this short today because of wedding details, like rehearsal dinner later today.

Vernon's heart continues doing well and the challenges he continues to deal with are the skin cancers that show up on his face. The third one was removed recently and we'll learn Monday when a fourth will be removed.
